AMERICAN EQUIPMENT FINANCIAL SERVICES
www.americanEFS.com
888-475-AEFS
Website: www.americanEFS.com Phone: 888-475-AEFS
Google Rank: 5 out of 5
EFR Rank: 9.87 out of 10
Editor's Notes: AEFS earns the top spot for the fourth year in a row, with niche financing programs that are industry-specific, a co-sign from websites like Commercial Truck Trader and Equipment Trader, and the industry's only instant-terms Pre-Qualification system. Their turnaround time and level of service is absolutely unmatched.
Website: www.slsfinancial.com Phone: 816-423-8021
Google Rank: 5 out of 5
EFR Rank: 9.72 out of 10
Editor's Notes: SLS does it right, having been in business since 1986 and with an emphasis on customer-centered financing. SLS is a true one stop shop, offering real estate lending, working capital, commercial vehicle financing, and heavy equipment loans and leases. SLS has previously been our top choice.
Website: www.crestcapital.com Phone: 770-828-0095
Google Rank: 4.9 out of 5
EFR Rank: 9.4 out of 10
Editor's Notes: Crest is a great small-ticket financing choice, with a wide variety of program offerings and a solid staff and infrastructure. The only negative reviews seem to stem from the occasional lack of communication.
Website: www.truckingfinance.com Phone: 503-305-3336
Google Rank: 4.81 out of 5
EFR Rank: 9.33 out of 10
Editor's Notes: Trucking Finance Group is one of the best platforms for semi truck, box truck, and trailer financing. Their only downfall? They're too focused on commercial trucks and have limited options for heavy equipment like construction or logging machines.
Website: www.nationalfunding.com Phone: 888-733-2383
Google Rank: 3.2 out of 5
EFR Rank: 7.01 out of 10
Editor's Notes: National Funding does a little bit of everything, including working capital loans, equipment, and truck and trailer financing. While their program offerings are diverse and their knowledge base are resources are powerful, the reviews paint a story of pushy sales teams and high interest rates. Nonetheless, if financing equipment can make you enough money and you're limited on options, these folks might be able to help.
Website: www.ascentiumcapital.com Phone: 866-846-3646
Google Rank: 1.9 out of 5
EFR Rank: 6.23 out of 10
Editor's Notes: Ascentium has one of the largest arrays of product offerings in this space. Their issue seems to be getting the customer service part right. Their reviews describe various billing complaints, including being overcharged or double charged. A few customers also point out that at one time they had 500+ negative reviews and now have fewer than ten. Proceed with caution.
Website: www.directcapital.com Phone: 866-777-0117
Google Rank: 3.3 out of 5
EFR Rank: 6.00 out of 10
Editor's Notes: Direct Capital was acquired by CIT apparently in 2014. While CIT is a force to be reckoned with, the reviews tell a story of customers being on the wrong side of that force. Hidden fees, unauthorized ACH's, and a lack of oversight and customer service are reasons you may want to reconsider using Direct. If you're limited on options, the support of CIT should mean (in theory) they have some of the best rate options. Those may not be enticing to overcome the other issues here.
Website: www.balboacapital.com Phone: 888-225-2621
Google Rank: 3.7 out of 5
EFR Rank: 5.44 out of 10
Editor's Notes: Balboa has been in the business for a long time, for better or worse. While their ratings have improved over time, and they have moved into the top 10, the prolonged issues with confusing customers on whether their products are leases, loans, or rental agreements seem to have continued into 2019.
Website: www.currencycapital.com Phone: 877-358-4595
Google Rank: 3.6 out of 5
EFR Rank: 4.2 out of 10
Editor's Notes: Currency offers a fast application process to connect your dealer financing need to their portal, but the convenience appears to stop there. Customers describe a lack of communication, being billed for equipment never received, and a pattern of posting 'fake' reviews to bolster their online reputation. While Currency has great ideas about equipment financing and in theory could be a fantastic platform, they don't seem to deliver to the end user when it counts.
Website: www.trustcapitalusa.com Phone: 866-458-4777
Google Rank: 3.4 out of 5
EFR Rank: 2.0 out of 10
Editor's Notes: Trust Capital has all the appearance of a professional company, with lots of decent content on the industry and a lot of attention to marketing their products. All of that goes out the window, when a customer posts on YouTube a voicemail of the owner cursing at them and threatening them. While it seems like they have made an effort to clean up their act, the proof is in the pudding and our readers will need to see a longer track record of improvement before they move up the list.

"Thank you so much again for the recommendations. Each year when it's time to add equipment, we come back to see if there are any surprises we should be aware of."
